I am satisfied with the wi-fi range extender XIAOMI Mi v2. It only needs to plug in to USB port to power. The settings must be made via Android App Mi Home. I hope there is for oIS too. It detects and add nearby device. If not found you can manually select from list. Then you can make settings and pairing to the existing SSID. The repeater's SSID is the same with "_plus" added to the end of name. Is can operate both with secured and open networks (but open networks are colored with grey color). I tried to pair it to my home router and place it 1 m sideway. The strength of signal behind 3 walls of bricks is the same as the router. I did not measure if there is lag but tried to watch 1080p movie hosted from laptop to android device and it was without dropping of signal. Definitely it worth to have it in home for better coverage, on a business trip in a hotel room if hosted signal is weak. My friend uses this device to extend FPV coverage of his drone. I have powered the device in a power bank rated as 20 000 mAh. For 24 hours of usage it dropped power bank's indication with 10% (less than 2 000 mAh daily consumption). For better and more precise results must be used USB power meter with consumption indication
