Is there a better combination than pizza and beer?

I just don’t think so. Okay, maybe pizza and wine, if wine is your thing.

Either way, if you’re a south Londoner, you’ll be satisfied this Saturday (22 July) if you head to the opening party of Mother restaurant’s brand spankin’ new Battersea branch.

The Italian restaurant will be serving up 2000 free pizzas fresh from the oven, popping open 300 free bottles of wine and – I quote – ‘God knows how many beers’ to celebrate their new location.

Sounds like a party to me.

The restaurant began in Copenhagen in 2010, where it became known for its trademark sourdough pizzas made with purified sea water and baked in a wood-fired oven.

It’s these very pizzas that you’ll be munching on for free on Saturday.

It’ll be a very casual affair with punters (AKA you) strolling up and picking up slices of pizzas served fresh from the oven, while they nurse a refreshingly cold wine or beer.

Delish.

Just tell me how I get my free pizza, godammit
