January is a rubbish month to have a birthday.
If you try to arrange any sort of bash, half of your guests will be on Dry January because NYE left them so physically and emotionally damaged.
Gifts are few and far between thanks to the fact that everyone blew two months-worth of wages on Christmas.
And of course, there are some relatives who think it’s acceptable to give you your birthday presents on Christmas Day even when the big day isn’t for another three weeks.
Oh, to be those sunny babies celebrating their birthdays in June and July. Those who can organise celebratory picnics, beer garden drinks, garden parties.

All you’ve got to do is present your I.D during January at any Franco Manca restaurant to be rewarded with a complimentary treat.
The Napoli chain has got restaurants all around London and is slowly spreading further into the South East, with restaurants popping up everywhere from Belsize Park to Brighton, and Stoke Newington to Southampton.
What is Blue Monday?
Blue Monday is essentially a marketing ploy made up by companies to get people to spend more after the initial New Year sales.
It’s supposed to be the most depressing day of the year and started life in a press release by holiday company Sky Travel which published a ‘formula’ for what makes the worst day of the year. It included variables such as weather conditions, post-Christmas debt, low motivation levels and the fact that by then we’d have reneged on our New Year’s Resolutions.
But occasionally, firms use it as an excuse to give stuff away…like Franco Manca.
So you’re probably only around the corner from a free birthday pizza.
