OK, so they do this once a year, and yes it's just to drive new business to their site BUT that being said some of the courses on Udemy are fantastic and shouldn't be snubbed at. I've taken a dozen and learnt loads.
Here are some really high rated course now down to only 10 quid. Some down from £200 :
Even cheaper if you buy in dollars.. can still pay with uk PayPal account.

Is there a time limit of when you can take a course after purchase?

No. Unlimited time to use it. They do it more than every year. Every 2-3 month. Some good courses on there

"How to draw sexy women" 4000 students........ I guess the "How to draw a bowl of fruit", wouldn't be such an attractive course then?........

Not really a deal as they reduce most courses to less than £10 several times a month

This is true. They tend to be on for £10 (or £12 or £15) more often than they're on for their "regular" price - but since £10 is cheaper than £15 I'd say it's a deal.
It's also worth downloading the Udemy app and checking prices on there. Often you can buy the same £10 course for £8.99 !
Do watch the free preview videos before purchasing a course to get a sense of the instructor's style and whether it suits your own. Some of the courses on Udemy are excellent; others are not.

If you're going to buy some content, do yourself (and the content author) a favour and check that it's been uploaded by its original author. Udemy has a track record for hosting pirated content that's been stolen from other paid-for platforms.
