Doesn't the bridge support 50 bulbs?

You have 50 hue lights?
Do you live in Blackpool by any chance?

Just starting out in my home automation quest and been waiting for an offer on these. Just bought a couple, thanks.

So in order to use this with an app/smart device, I also need the bridge. This is just a remote controlled bulb in it's current form?

I'm thinking about getting the light strips but I'm struggling to understand how they work. Do they connect wirelessly to my bridge and can you cut strips and have them in separate locations?

The strip does connect wirelessly to the bridge and is controlled in the same way as any other hue bulb. They can be cut (although be VERY careful doing so), but the new strip that was cut from the main strip will not work. Effectively the cutting is only useful to shorten them.
You can buy an extender to make them longer for about £20 though...

Amazon at Xmas is usually a good bet during the Lightning deals. Had a couple of starter kits from thoses for £70ish for 2 strips n a bridge.

So I can't control these directly with IFTTT? I need the bridge first?
