Just ordered what seems like a cracking deal - Nikon D5300 with VR kit lens. £380+£10 postage. Not much more than the D3300 I was looking at but comes with WIFI, GPS and tilt screen.
After searching online it appears Hdew use imported cameras, but they are shipped from UK so include import and duty taxes. Comes with 12 month Nikon guarantee and a further 2 year warranty with a Nikon approved repair centre.
Yup, good deal for a decent camera combo ... and it does AE Bracketing.

Bought a D7200 from Hdewcameras last year and saved over £300. Seem a good company to deal with. Heat added.

Good price but no Nikon UK Warranty, any returns would have to be via the dealer.

Be Warned, NIKON are seriously difficult to deal with for returns and CS they wont even accept amazon marketplace sellers they consider it a 3rd party seller, so you pretty much will get zero warranty with this.

Whilst I've never had cause to claim, my D7200 from them came with a 3year 3rd party warranty. I agree it's unlikely that this is as good as a nikon one but it's something at least (and 2 years longer...)

Wow, what a price. I bought mine from Amazon a couple of months back and love it. Make sure you get a good prime lens as well for the perfect combo (I've got the Nikon 35mm one). The Nikon 55-200 is a great lens as well to go with this. Along with the kit lens it gives you good options for different scenarios.

I've been looking at prime lenses for once my other half as got over the shock of this purchase. I've heard good reports over the 35mm and the 50mm. Any recommendations for one over the other?

Try not to all laugh at once.... but I currently own a Nikon D80. I really want to upgrade to this (especially as I'm going to a wedding this weekend and was planning on taking my D80) but I need to justify to myself the cost of the upgrade opposed to waiting.... someone persuade me?

In one word - yes. You can wait whole life for better deals. D5500 can drop price and then model... Important part is, if u have lences, which will not fit on D5300. Checking compactibility online is easy these days. Best idea is to go first in local shop, hold camera in hands, if it's not too small grip for you, try buttons (on new cameras are less and less buttons). There is always bigger D7100.

Nothing wrong with a D80 mate, Im still using a D90 my next upgrade is with going to be the D7200 or I might go mirrorless, but i wont be doing that for a while. its prob worth investing in lenses than a new body, unless the body is not allowing you to achieve what you need.
