Not bad if you're one of the those people who still buys DVD's and says: "there's no difference between them and Blu-ray's".

Can't believe companies even get away with selling HD Ready 720p screens anymore. I'm sure about 3 years ago anything over 32 inches was almost definitely 1080p but the last couple years there is a sudden resurgence of going back to 720p even on very large panels 42 inches and larger.

Got this yesterday for the bedroom as the old one just went pop... Wouldn't have it as a main set but perfectly adequate for our purpose. Good price, easy set up and built in Netflix... Plus the £10.00 voucher for spending over £100. 00. Can't go wrong really...

HD televisions have plummeted in price in recent months as 4K tries to barge in. So £140 for just a 32" 'half HD' television by Bush is hardly a great deal. Unless you want a budget tv for the kids room.

Fair point but as stated, it's for the bedroom and with both the £10.00 voucher (which will go on the£128gb micro sd card I was going to buy anyway AND the 10% from quidco for in store argos purchases, it starts looking a little more attractive for my personal circumstances. It'll never beat the 2 downstairs Panasonics but for a little over a £100.00 I never expected it to.

Dude, you've got to relax. Resolution is important to some people. pig_dog even said it is 'not bad' as long as you don't care about resolution - which you clearly don't.

I bought one yesterday for the bedroom, it's a good quality for the price £116 after £10 argos voucher + you may get 10 % cash back quidco.
if you complain about the resolution then you have to double the price at least.

I'm delighted you are happy with it though this is a poor quality tv as you are likely to find out. I'm not a brand snob though I buy stuff to last and these TV's are cheap for a reason. A friend just replaced an 18 month young Hitachi as it had died already.

if you want a higher quality you need to spend a lot more than £116 .
I think this tv is a good quality FOR the price . ( include voucher and cashback )

I disagree, free wouldn't make this tv good quality, the upside is vestel TV's are relatively easy to repair (as they fail so often).

1080p is generally considered standard, 720p is flogged cheap to people who don't know what resolution is

hd ready, hd, full hd, 4k, etc etc etc etc. been on huge resolutions on my pc monitors for years before it was cool. i even had 1900 x 900 on my old 12 yrs old plasma 42 inch way before they even dared to call it hd. but hey, lets stick to paying for hd and 4k. nevermind me being a resolution hipster

It's a 32" Smart TV for under £140 for goodness sake! - if you need higher resolutions then don't buy this TV, it's pretty simple :stuck_out_tongue:

Astounding price for Smart .. though not 1080p and not Freeview HD - and while you might not be that bothered about Freeview in HD, HD also includes a couple of channels not present in SD and also support for the streamed channels, so it's not just "a few channels in HD".

Ideal TV's for bedroom.....only watch for short time....plus the £10 voucher, cashback too and they even delivered it for free......not bad for a cheap tv!!.....easy to set up, kids love it.....what do some people want for just over a hundred pound!!!.....

as the op says for a bedroom tv,and the fact that he,s got a voucher as well makes this a good deal for some people.sure the tv isnt going to be great quality, but if he gets at least 12 months outta it then thats a hit worth taking in my opinion for some people, but maybe not for others.so on that basis ,heat added.personally i wouldnt pull the trigger on this deal myself.

God, what a lot of tv snobs! Some peoples eyesight isn't as great as others which means resolution is less important. And as for buying better 'brands', I've had a 22" technika in my bedroom for at least 6 years and it's still working. I've just upgraded to a 32" Sharp, 720p for £139 and it's great for my purpose. I couldn't actually see a difference between this and the hd TVs. That's me, personally!

Hello all,
Can this TV be hooked up to Sky? I need one for my mother's bedroom, she's disabled and in bed a lot. The Sky engineer told me that if she doesn't like the Sky channels, and wants to cancel the Sky subscription, they usually leave the Sky cables in place in she changes her mind in the future. It seems the cables are connected to the Sky plus HD box and NOT the TV itself. If that happens, can I get the TV connected to a digital recorder Freesat box, and then connect the Freesat recorder to the Sky cables? Then will she be able to get Freesat? She is not that keen on Freeview.

Any TV can be used with a box.
It's rare, but there are a few TVs with satellite tuning built in, if a really tidy satellite hookup is needed - first one I spotted was a blaupunkt on a foreign site.
PS. So long as you are out of contract obligation, you keep ALL the Sky kit, and it drops to "Freesat from Sky" mode (free channels only, plus feature disabled).

Also, how does one claim the 10% Quidco cashback if one is buying in-store? Do I still go to Argos via the Quidco site and then press click and collect? Will the store then give the cashback UPON purchase, or will it come via Quidco as usual? What about Topcashback, do they do the same deal? Have never used Quidco, although registered with them. Are they as good as TCB?

Where is the free £10 voucher mentioned in the OP? It doesn't seem to show up on the Argos link. All it says is £1 back when you spend £25 or more.
I assume that means £1 totally, not £1 for EVERY £25 you spend?!

Thank you, matth9999. I was actually wondering about what would happen if I decided to cancel DURING the coooling off period (if mum didn't like Sky). In that case, can we connect her TV to a Freesat digital recorder box, and then connect the box to the Sky cables that are still in place. That should give her Freesat, no?
