"Same deal as Amazon but you get a £5 voucher, dropping the deal To 59.99"
The deal is not £59.99. You still have to pay £64.99 and get a £5 voucher to buy an additional item. It is not cashback. If you think you are getting it for £59.99, then you must also think you are paying £5 for a free voucher. Unfortunately you cannot have your cake and eat it.

I have never said is cashback, the £5 voucher can be used on your next purchase saving some cash.

I do not see the need for rooting. You can install firestart / kodi 3rd party apps no problems with a normal box by just turning on developer mode

I've never done this before - if you reserve and get your £1 for collecting, will Quidco still track on your registered card? Or does it no longer class as an "in-store purchase"? Thanks

The Quidco t&cs say "Cashback may not be paid on VAT, delivery, card payment fees, taxes or any other additional charges" so does that mean you only get 10% of the ex-VAT price back?
I've already got a FireTV but I'm looking at using this offer on a Galaxy S7!

Thanks for this. So would the device in this HotUK deal, be a like for like replacement for my AppltTV2 ?
If I buy this deal, can I jailbreak it easily, or is it just firesticks that can be broke ?

Have they updated this to support 5.1 now? I heard that was some sort of issue at launch but I'm assuming they have fixed this?

Better stay on 5.0.5 so you can root it, install a custom recovery and the modified 5.0.5 firmware and block Amazon updates.
For the regular user, just perform the simple updates and enjoy it.

please note that I have just been on my Quidco to check my card is registered. I then checked the high street stores and Argos and then had to activate to get the 10% back. once activated then have just 28 days to get / use the cash back linked to my cards. don't know if the cash back will work just by using your registered card so well worth going onto your Quidco to activate the Argos cashback!

23 Mar 16#8
Worth it over the normal FireTV ?
dotnetter to googleboogle
23 Mar 16#10
I'll assume by normal you mean the 1st Fire TV rather than the Fire Stick...
I have both but not the new one. I was also thinking of getting the new one but discovered that it no longer has optical-out out for the audio but it does have an micro SD card slot.
Not sure if that's a deal breaker but worth mentioning depending on your setup.
Other than that, if you don't have a 4K TV then I'd say there's little point in upgrading if you are happy with your current Fire TV.

Sorry - sorted it. Reserve online, pay instore - get the 10% Quidco (for using your registered card) and £5 voucher - totalling £11.50. So the Amazon Fire TV costs £53.50.
You can't get the £1 for pick up and the 10% Quidco.
