I have been looking for a replacement printer since mine packed up over a week ago and I missed the cheap deal posted on here from Tesco recently.
This printer is an all in one, wifi. Cheapest price I could find.
It costs £49.99, sorry the app would not allow me input the correct amount, hence the £50 I have written here.

A very good printer. Picked one of these up from Tesco a couple of weeks ago for £30.

Excellent printer with stupidly cheap ink

just missed out on this both times at £30, now ordered as still seems a good printer for the price.
can anyone recommend if it's worth using the genuine ink or compatible off eBay?

I have the 5550 and use compatible ink, in fact I have had printers for the last 17 years and have never used original ink once the ones that came with it ran out. Never had clogging issues - just order from a reputable supplier!

I've always used compatible and never had a problem with quality or anything else

Same here, got one for £30 from Tesco, very pleased with it. Worth £50 in my opinion

Does anyone know how this compares to the Canon Pixma MG3650. Buying printers is a mind field

What cheap compatible carts do people recommend, have the MG4250 and wouldn't mind saving some shekels

Just to agree with all the previous comments on this being a great printer.
I've had the MG 5250 for three years and can't really fault it in any way.
Try prink.co.uk for compatible inks - made in the USA, 30% more ink per cartridge than originals, and less than a tenner for a full set.
EDIT: Just checked and a full set is £6.50 here

I've had a Canon MG4150 for years, got is cheap from Jessops when they were closing down. Couple of firmware updates later made it AirPrint compatible, and genuine Canon cartridges on the web are £20 for a pack of black & colour. These last ages by the way ..
Hot from me ... if mine ever packs up then it will be another Canon for sure ...
